the year so far...

As summer cools down, the changing of seasons reminds us of the final few months of 2024 wrapping up another year.

We took care of a lot of behind-the-scenes work this year, and we're very excited to put everything into action. But great things come to those who wait; the year isn't over yet, and we still have work to do! Carla, our Board, and the rest of the team are diligently working to make CMR stronger than ever!

In the meantime, you can still find us at the Roosmoor Farmers' Market in the summer and fall. This is our second year of dog photography "Pup-Ups", and they're a great time for everyone involved. Our next event is September 26th, check the main page of our website for more info if you'd like to stop by.

Thank you to all of our friends, neighbors, and volunteers that make CMR what it is today. We will see you all very soon!

summertime pup-date

Lea here for another update!

It’s already been a big summer, and it’s only July! So far, we’ve had three dog photo “Pup-Ups” at the Rossmoor Farmers’ Market. Each month, we set up a booth and a little dog house for the pups to pose with, then our photographer (that’s me!) takes some high quality digital portraits of the little models, and we e-mail the best shots to their respective owners.

These Pup-Ups have been a really fun way to spend time with our community. We’ve made some new friends, saw some old ones, and even had our first poster featured in the July 2023 issue of Rossmoor Living magazine! (pictured below)

On a personal level, these events have reignited my love of taking pictures, and have given me a great opportunity to grow and develop my skills as a photographer. Hanging out with cute dogs all afternoon is a nice bonus too. ;)

Here we go again!

Our first “Pup-Up” was a huge success! We had 32 dogs show up for an adorable puppy photoshoot, and each dog owner got a bonus Polaroid picture of their little model to take home. It was a great time! In fact, we had so much fun that we’ve been asked by our community to come back for another one.

So let’s do it again! Join us this Thursday, June 8th, for another Pup-Up. Bring your dog for a free picture, or come on your own to enjoy the live band and food vendors at the farmers’ market. Details are in the poster below, we can’t wait to see you again!
